Judy Cogan: Recent Works

I was an art teacher for 32 years and I've always made time to make art, either with my students or in my home studio. But when I retired in June 2023, I suddenly had the time to pursue my own work to a degree I had never experienced before. In the past year and a half, I have made over 250 pieces, often staying in my studio until the wee hours of the morning. My latest work is a joyous exploration of color, shape and texture. I employ a combination of as many experimental techniques as I can come up with, centered around the gel printing plates I just love. These pieces represent a little bit of planning, a fair amount of perseverance and whole lot of wonderful surprises.
